Here at Koala Child Care Centre, we hold ourselves to the highest standard in regards to children’s safety. The following statements reflect what we value in our service. All staff members, volunteers, students, and others who may enter our premises, will be held to these same standards. 

  • We are committed to children feeling safe, happy and empowered
 
  • We support and respect all children no matter their ability or cultural background
 
  • We have zero tolerance of child abuse in all its forms, including physical, sexual, emotional, nelglect and exposure to family violence. We take all allegations and safety concerns seriously and these will be investigated vigorously 
 
  • We are committed to upholding the 10 Child Safe Standards as recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse

  • We are committed to regularly training and educating staff, board members and volunteers about child abuse risks
 
  • As recommended by the Royal Commission, we at Koala Child Care Centre, are committed to the cultural safety of all Aboriginal children, children from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQI+ families, children with a disability, and children with prior trauma
